ABOUT

Acclaimed for her shimmering coloratura and winning stage presence, soprano Natalie Trumm is known for her versatility in both musical theater and opera. This season, Trumm made her Lincoln Center debut as Soprano 2 in Amahl and the Night Visitors, directed by Kenny Leon in association with The Metropolitan Opera. This past season, Trumm made her Prototype Festival debut as Sissy/Berry in Eat The Document, directed by Kristin Marting. Additionally, Ms. Trumm returned to The American Gothic Performing Arts Festival to perform the role of Irene Molloy in Hello, Dolly! directed by Tony Humrichouser with the Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra. Past performances with The American Gothic Performing Arts Festival include Marian Paroo in The Music Man and Julie Jordan in Carousel.

 

Other notable performances include Papagena from The Magic Flute with The Norwalk Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jonathan Yates. As a returning Studio Artist for two years with the Chautauqua Opera Company, Ms. Trumm performed the role of Florestine in John Corigliano's Ghosts of Versailles and Barbara in Vid Guerrerio's Figaro! 90210. The Chautauqua Daily described her voice as a "nice dark lyric instrument sounding like a future Susana: exactly right". Ms. Trumm is a former Resident Artist with the American Opera Projects Composers and the Voice Program ('23-'24) in Brooklyn, NY. 

 

In her first year at the Bard College Graduate Vocal Arts Program, she received great acclaim for her interpretation of the role of Cunegonde in Bernstein’s Candide, claiming to have “stopped the show in her spectacular aria ‘Glitter and Be Gay’” with The Orchestra Now, conducted by James Bagwell (Hudson Valley One). 

Ms. Trumm holds a Master of Music in Vocal Arts from the Bard College Graduate Vocal Arts Program and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. @natalietrumm
